Mason Mitchell Motorsports Shore Lunch 250 pre-race release

STATESVILLE, North Carolina – 19-year-old Minnesota native Cole Anderson is set to make his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in the Shore Lunch 250 at the Elko Speedway driving the No. 78 Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports.

Anderson’s enjoyed success in the late model ranks winning the Red Eye 100 at New Smyrna Speedway. In 2016, he won two races with the Southern Super Series at South Alabama Speedway and at Montgomery Motor Speedway while capturing the series rookie of the year honors. Anderson was also selected as one of the 51 drivers selected in the Speed 51 Short Track Draft in 2017.

Driver Cole Anderson Quotes:

“I am really looking forward to making my ARCA debut at Elko,” Cole stated. “It’s going to be great racing in front of family and friends. I grew up 20 minutes for Elko Speed

way so this will be a homecoming for me.”

“Navigating lapped traffic and picking the right lane will be key. MMM has a strong short track program. I really see no reason why we can’t end up in victory lane at the end of 250 laps.”

Owner Mason Mitchell Quotes:

“We had a great test with Cole in February at New Smyrna. He has a ton of laps racing at Elko since he grew up just down the road from the track. Our team has been working nonstop on our cars and our short track program is the best that it’s been. If the racing luck goes our way I believe we will end up in victory lane.”

Chassis Information: Cole Anderson will wheel chassis No. 589 out of the MMM stable. The chassis has raced in all three short tracks in 2017 earning two top-five finishes and three top-ten’s. In 19 starts the chassis has two wins (Iowa 15 and Springfield 16), 13 top-five finishes and 17 top-ten finishes.

MMM Stats at Elko: MMM has one prior start at the 3/8 Elko Speedway. The lone start was in 2014 during Mason Mitchell’s championship run. Mitchell earned a top-ten finish in the 250-lap event.

Media: The Shore Lunch 250 will be live on MAVTV beginning at 9:00pm ET. Arcaracing.com will feature live timing and scoring, plus live chat of all on-track activities. An on-track autograph session, from 6:15 - 7:15 p.m., will precede driver introductions at 7:30.
