Cole Custer Set for ARCA Return at Road America with Mason Mitchell Motorsports


STATESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 24, 2017) – NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of The Year contender Cole Custer will make his first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start of the 2017 season this weekend at Road America driving for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM).

“In road-course racing, the competition is more on the driver’s shoulders compared to your traditional oval-styled track, Custer explained. “You’re on the edge of your seat for the entire race and even the smallest mistake could take you out of the race. I enjoy road-course racing and challenging my skills as a driver. I’m really looking forward to returning to the ARCA Racing Series. Especially with a team like Mason Mitchell Motorsports. They build great cars. I know we will have a chance to win on Sunday.”

Custer will be behind the wheel of the HAAS Automation No. 78 for 2014 championship team MMM. The 19-year-olds last ARCA start came last July at the Iowa Speedway where he finished seventh. In five series starts, Custer has one win (Pocono Raceway 2015), and four top-ten finishes.

Custer will pull double duty on Sunday. First, he will race 25 laps, 100 miles in the ARCA 100. He will then hop into his Xfinity car for 180 miles, 75 laps in the Johnsonville 180.

Chassis Information: Custer will race chassis No. 130 out of the MMM stable. The chassis has three prior road course starts for MMM all top-10 finishes. David Levine raced the chassis to a third-place finish last May at the New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Road America 100 Information

The Road America ARCA 100 Sunday, August 27th. The series will have two practice sessions as well as group qualifying on Saturday. The race will be tape delayed on MAVTV. will have live timing/scoring as well as a live audio call of the event.
