Ryan Repko and Mason Mitchell Motorsports Battle Back at Fairgrounds Speedway for 12th place finish

(Mooresville, NC)— Ryan Repko driver of the No. 78 Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) had high expectations Saturday evening in his 2018 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at the Fairgrounds Speedway. The 18-year-old qualified an impressive fourth and was running inside the top-ten early when an unscheduled pit-stop to put the drivers window net cost him two laps. Repko and the team battled back to finish the 200-lap event in the 12th position.

“It’s a bummer,” Repko said after the 200-lap event. “We had such a fast car. The MMM guys made adjustments all afternoon in practice and the last set of changes helped the car. I was just riding early, getting into a nice rhythm when we had to make the unscheduled pit-stop for the window net. We fought all evening long and were able to make up two of the three laps. We had a for sure top-five car. I want to thank my family, friends and MMM for this great opportunity. Nashville is such a unique track. Hopefully we can put together more races moving forward.”

Repko qualified the No. 78 machine in the fourth position for the second race of the 2018 season. When the green flag waved on the Music City 200, Repko slotted his way into the sixth spot. While getting into a groove, the drivers window net on the No. 78 fell down forcing Repko to come down pit-road. The team made the proper repairs and Repko rejoined the race three laps down.

Over the course of the next 175 laps Repko and the MMM team were able to make up two of the three laps. Unfortunately, the yellow flags did not fall in favor of the team and they weren’t ever able to receive the free pass to get back on the lead lap. The No. 78 machine crossed the stripe in the 12th spot.

The next event for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at the Salem Speedway located in Salem, Indiana on Sunday, April 22nd. The race will be live on MAVTV beginning at 2:00 PM ET.
